How do you order Ramen noodle?
There are mainly two ways to order Ramen depending on restaurant. The first one is purchase by “ticket vending machine(券売機)”. You can normally switch the language, so it shouldn’t be a problem at all. But, the second one is a bit challenging for Japanese learners. There are some options and toppings.
“Do you have any preferences (お好みはありますか)”?
The lists below are common options (just examples) that you can choose. Customize options to find out your best ramen noodle!
Size
S・・・ “Komori(小盛り)”
M・・・ “Futsumori(並盛り)”
L・・・ “Omori(大盛り)”
Noodle Hardness
Vert hard・・・ “Barikata(バリカタ)”
Hard・・・”Kata (カタ)”
Normal・・・”Futsu(普通)”
Soft・・・”Yawa (ヤワ)”
Very Soft・・・”Bariyawa (バリヤワ)”
Soup Thickness

You can have a refill but only noodles called “Kaedama(替え玉)”. Most Japanese eat only noodles and toppings and don’t drink soup. They keep for refill. Once you get full, you finally drink the soup. You can simply ask staff “Kaedama Onegaishimasu(替え玉お願いします)” to get refill.
