Hida Cuisine Cookery Class in Hida-Furukawa

2 hours and 30 minutes

Easy

Learn how to make typical Hida dishes using fresh local ingredients, drawing on the food culture handed down through generations.

Takayama Matsuri and Furukawa Matsuri are the two outstanding festivals in the Hida area. On festival days, guests can experience the wonder of the festival floats, with close-up views of their artistic craftsmanship. Other highlights include the parade of the festival deity in a portable shrine, accompanied by traditionally-costumed locals; lion dances and marionette performances. As local members, we are closely involved in supporting the Matsuri, allowing  guests privileged access to a behind the scenes glimpse into the secrets of the festival, whenever possible.
