After gathering at JR Awa-Ikeda Station, we wheeled and took a JR train to Oboke Station. From Oboke Station, we changed to a local bus to go to Kazura Bridge in Iya Valley!
Near the Kazura Bridge, there is a place where you can descend to the beautiful Biwa Falls and the Iya River. From there, you will travel along the emerald green Iya River on the old highway that runs along the side of the valley. The beauty of the ever-changing valley is so spectacular that it will make you forget your everyday life. There are many places to see, such as the two-star Michelin-starred “Hinoza Gorge” and the “Pissing Little Boy” standing on a 200-meter cliff! The old road along the Iya Gorge is generally a gentle downhill, so even those who are not confident in their physical strength can enjoy the ride without problems.
The rest stops along the way are also scenic spots that are sure to be a hit on your Instagram.
Please enjoy the charm of Iya Gorge that cannot be experienced by car.
Visit the Iya Kazura Bridge, one of the few surviving bridges made by mountain vines in the area. The bridge stretches 45m over the Iya River and suspends 24m above it, giving you a thrilling view of the river below.
The vines are replaced every three years and ensure a safe and sturdy passage.
Enjoy a leisurely ride down a gentle downhill with a Brompton bike through the Iya Valley, taking in the stunning scenery along the way. The vibrant hues of the leaves transform the valley, offering a fresh and beautiful view with each new season.
Stop by the 50-meter Biwa Waterfall and head down to the nearby river to enjoy the clear stream.
